Theatre has taught me the power of a single story. A story can move people to tears, hurt their stomachs from laughing, make them cheer in excitement, or jump from a thrill. Every story is special to me, and I tell each to the best of my ability, whether it's purpose is to have people consider the world around them, or simply help them forget their bills and job interviews through a song and dance. The many stories of theatre have taught me, no one's story is as simply as it seems. Everyone has a story to tell. Everyone has a story worth knowing. When I perform, I do it to show audiences how beautiful, complex, flawed, and human, every person is. Whether an audience is singing along, sobbing along, or considering their world view, I want to use my own story to show them that everyone has a story, horrific or happy, that makes them who they are, a perfectly flawed, unique human.
Soli Deo Gloria.
